Virtual Court Sessions
On March 12, 2020, Governor Sisolak declared a state of emergency in Nevada in response to the recent outbreak of COVID-19. The Douglas County Courts recognize their responsibilities including ensuring the quality and continuity of court services, ensuring that court duties are timely and orderly performed, and that the business of the court’s are properly facilitated and supervised. The Douglas County Courts have issued Order 20-01 to address these concerns.
Accordingly, the East Fork Justice Court will continue to hear cases, and wherever possible use audio-visual means pursuant to Nevada Supreme Court Rule Part IX.
If you would like to appear by video for an upcoming hearing then you may provide notice to the appropriate court as follows:
It is important that you read, understand and follow these instructions. Failure to do so may result in your inability to participate.
No later than 5:00 pm the Thursday before Your Hearing
Each Defendant must notify the Court of their intention to appear via video no later than 5:00 pm the Thursday prior to the hearing by sending an email to the Court at firstname.lastname@example.org.

All participants must email a copy of their current driver’s license or government issued picture identification along with the information above. Alternatively, if the request is made by an attorney, the attorney must include their Nevada State Bar Number with the request.
You must also email the Court and opposing party any documentation or exhibits that you wish the Court to consider no later than 12:00 p.m. the day before the hearing. The Court will not consider any documents not provided in this manner.
The Virtual Court Session will open fifteen (15) minutes prior to the hearing time and the parties may login at that time. The Calendar will be handled in order of the Court’s receipt of the emailed notices to appear.
The Court uses Go To Meeting for the video hearing. All parties should load and test the free Go to Meeting app to their device well prior to the start of the hearing. YOUR DEVICE MUST HAVE A CAMERA AND MICROPHONE OR YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE.
Each person appearing by video should be sure that the device they are using to access the Hearing is fully charged or plugged in and that they are in an area of good reception with a quiet background.

As participants will be visible to the Court and each other, appropriate dress is required.

East Fork Justice Court is a limited jurisdiction court for the East Fork Township of Douglas County, Nevada, which is outside of the Lake Tahoe basin, and includes the Carson Valley and the Topaz Lake (Antelope Valley) area. The communities of Gardnerville, Minden, Genoa, Johnson Lane, Indian Hills, Gardnerville Ranchos and the Topaz Ranch Estates, as well as the Pinenut Mountains and the foothills of the Eastern Sierra below the Lake Tahoe basin are all part of the East Fork Township.
